Spotlight on Evan Lanier

Evan just turned 11 the end of June and has been playing at Bluegrass Festivals for a couple years.

His band is called "Evan Lanier and the Bluegrass Express."

Evan plays Guitar and Banjo

Noel Bolen (Grandpa) plays Guitar, lead vocals, and handles bookings

Gilbert Morningstar plays upright bass

Red Spurlock (of Red Spurlock and the Rainbow Ramblers) plays Banjo and sings

Bob Hamblin (of The Dixie Ryders) plays Mandolin and sings

Red and Bob are both longtime leaders of their own bands but they play with Evan wherever and whenever he needs them.

Red is the frontman for Evan Lanier and the Bluegrass Express and often notes that "We have about 200 years of Bluegrass experience between all of us up here and we are working for an eleven year old boy....... Why? Because he's going places and we've already been everywhere we're ever gonna go!"

Evan doesn't have much to say, he lets the strings do the talking for him.
