Spotlight
on Unspeakable Joy
Unspeakable Joy is a group of four talented young musicians - Courtney Schroeder on the mandolin (18), Cassie Schroeder playing the banjo (16), Sylvia Ensminger on the fiddle (16), and the newest addition, Lawrence Ensminger, on the bass (14).
They play acoustic music in a variety of styles, honoring the bluegrass and gospel tradition as well as branching out into modern bluegrass and original compositions.
“Their music is most accomplished and totally REFRESHING! I found myself taping my foot and patting my knee in rhythm with their tempo . . . These wonderful young people put together a concert that made everyone in the audience feel GREAT!” - David Christenson - Wallace, MI.
"Unspeakable Joy", comes from the Bible verse 1 Peter 1:8 "Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory." Their goal is to glorify God through their talents and share it with others. The group skillfully blends voices and instruments: fiddle, mandolin, penny whistle, banjo, guitar, and string bass.
The group lives in the Pembine area of Northern Wisconsin and frequently performs at area churches, nursing homes, picnics, fairs, and festivals. Unspeakable Joy was part of the 2007 Youth in Bluegrass Competition at Silver Dollar City, Branson, MO. Contact us through e-mail: sharings@cybrzn.com
